Everybody To The Limit

Hi everyone – just a brief check-in from Austin. Having a wonderful time, wish you were here, yadda yadda. Apologies for being so lax in updating, there’s simply been no time. But I will try to sum up the last few days in bullet point form to give a preview of what’s coming when I finally get the chance to sit down and blog properly.

1) Austin City Limits – the festival. Had a moderately full day Friday, have an extremely full day today. As for Saturday… well, I ended up skipping the fest entirely. But why? Because I went to…

2) Austin City Limits – the show. I attended a taping of the PBS show that spawned the fest featuring none other than Wilco. Kind of awesome? Yeah, kinda.

3) The Hot Freaks! – the main reason I am here. Both after parties Friday night and Saturday night went amazingly with performances from Art Brut, Grizzly Bear, St Vincent and The Rosebuds as well as the four local Dallas/Austin openers. Full recaps on those parties are forthcoming.

4) General blogger schmoozing. I could regale you with anecdotes of what happens when almost a dozen bloggers get together over margaritas, but won’t. I’ll just say that it’s as exciting as you think it is.

I’m also behind on getting my photos sorted but have a number of shots from around the fest and Hot Freaks! up on Flickr right now. I will be milking this weekend for writeups probably through the next week, so check back throughout if you’re interested and run for cover if you’re not.
