Not A Fan

So my computer fan has decided to start taking unannounced days off. Twice today my computer has shut down spontaneously due to overheating. I let it cool down a bit and restart and it’s fine, but it seems the fan just, well, stops. This is not a good thing. I will have to go get a new power supply this week. This’ll be the second one I’ve gone through on this box. The first died about 10 months ago in a spectacular explosion. Go hard or go home, sez I.

Cleaned up the rehearsal space real nice tonight, as there was nothing else to do. Practiced my drumming. Cause Lord knows I need the practice.

Masters Of Crap

Caught some of the much-vaunted new ‘Masters Of The Universe’ cartoon today. What an amazing pile of shit. The animation wouldn’t have been decent quality 15 years ago when they first foisted this dreck on us. The writing was just as bad. I ask you – what’s the point? I understand it’s just marketing to my generation’s sense of nostalgia, but for the love of God, at least make an effort! As a sidebar, I saw the new action figures at the Silver Snail on Friday. They looked pretty much the same as any other adult-targeted McFarlane-era action figure. He-Man looked like a hunchback.

They also had G-Force action figures. Now THOSE were cool. I’m waiting for the Jason figure.

Emma Blowgun's Last Stand

Is it proper to have new year’s resolutions in September? In honour of the departure of one of the most fucked up Summers I’ve ever had, I am declaring this Fall to be a fresh start. Like being back in school but without the school. I miss the sense of renewal in September – now it’s just work until you die.

Various things that I am doing in honour of the Fresh Start:

– Start cooking properly. There’s all this freaking smoked salmon in the freezer. I like smoked salmon. Yet somehow I’m unable to bridge that chasm between ingredients and meal. Well dammit, I’m taking a running start and jumping.

– Be more dedicated in songwriting. I’ve spent all this freaking money on the equipment, I should damn well use it.

– Get my website up and running. Check! completed this morning. And this blog is just bonus – let’s see just how self-indulgent I can get with spewing whatever’s on my mind.
