Caught By The Fuzz Pt 2

The Fuzz Factory sounds better here than in the store. Can’t wait to hear it in my main setup on Thursday. Only problem would be that I’d rather be kneeling down at my pedalboard tweaking knobs than playing! So many sounds, so little time.

This thing even came in a little red cloth fastened by an old-school hair elastic. Mondo vibe, baby.

Compucentre finally got the SmartMedia card I ordered 3 weeks ago in. Will go pick that up tomorrow.

Caught By The Fuzz

Went in to Songbird today after work.

Walked out with a Z-Vex Fuzz Factory. Words can’t describe how cool this little pedal is. I can make it sound like my amp is exploding in so many different ways…

Can’t talk now. Playing with fuzz!

PS – We will not discuss how much this cost. Anyone want to buy my old Guyatone TZ-2 fuzz?

Gatecrashing

Word of advice – before charging through the turnstiles in the subway station, make sure that you swiped your Metropass correctly and that the turnstile will actually TURN. Otherwise, it can be a world of hurt if you’re a guy of about, oh, five-foot-ten.

Yikes.

Gold Soundz

Got the one issue of Magnet I was missing to complete like a 3-year run. This obsessive compulsive/collector streak in me just costs so much money… but it gives me something to read. It’s the Stephen Malkmus issue.

Another marathon band practice tonight. Spent the first part of the evening helping Seventeen work out the bassline to ‘Born On A Train’ (successfully, I think), the next segment was running through some stuff with Craig who kept complaining he was having an aneurysm (he wasn’t) and then going through the set with Laura (who didn’t complain about anything). Things are sounding good. Thursday will probably be our last full, full-length rehearsal before the next show. I think we will be fine.

( )

Good news bad news. Good news – Sigur Ros returns to Massey Hall this October 30. Tickets are $45, a little pricey but reasonable for a fantastic show. Bad news – tickets go on sale this Friday… when I will be in the midst of a 6 hour drive to Cleveland. Ut-oh! Hope Andy has his cellphone with him…
