I Need T.P. For My Bunghole
Apparently ‘Bunghole’ is also a nautical term of some kind. Hmm, bungholes… sailors… they’re not helping their cause here.
Yeah I’m being juvenile. What of it?
We have a lunch meeting today, which means free lunch. Smoked salmon! Mmm-mm. Had a hankering for a couple days now.
I am just padding this entry so that the image isn’t too large too fit properly in the blog box.
Sometimes I miss my hamster.

Indian Summer
It’s 15-degrees out there today. Looks to be a nice weekend.
“Cover me with rain
Walk me down the lane
I’ll drink from your drain
We will never change
No matter what they say”
– Calvin Johnson
Addendum – Shortly after I posted this, Kyle, having not read it, sent me this link to a ridiculously underpriced Beat Happening box set. Creepy. While I wouldn’t mind getting some Beat Happening, I think 7 discs is just too much of what’s really an acquired taste in the first place.
I do want the Galaxie 500 box set though.

I Know It’s Coming Someday
Longwave have currently caught my ear. Sorta new act out of New York City, they cop the churning guitar sound pioneered by the Chameleons and lately favoured by the likes of Interpol, but with less a less morose and anxious lyrical bent than their NYC kin. It’s quite lovely, actually. I’d been hearing about these guys for a while from NYC locals, who would say ‘screw the Strokes, THESE guys are the best band in NYC right now!’. They may have been on to something. The new album, ‘The Strangest Places’ is out in February. I need to find their last one, ‘Endsongs’. They were supposed to be in town next week supporting The Shining, but seeing as how The Shining has apparently broken up, that tour isn’t happening. Hopefully they’ll get their own show booked up here sooner rather than later.
Speaking of songs, I hauled the BR-532 down to the rehearsal space tonight and my little track now sports some stylish faux piano and trumpet, along with an adequate guitar solo over the intro. I don’t know if I’ll keep it, but it fills up the space right now. I’m going to have to start doing some bouncing so as to hear all of the parts together. I have an idea for the main solo that I’m anxious to try and see if it works. I should try it now before the fruit of inspiration whithers on the vine.

Decomposing Trees
All the trees in the city seem to have decided that today will be the day that they shed all their leaves. It seems every tree I pass is casting off its summer wardrobe in favour of some deciduous heroin chic. Leaves leaves leaves all over the ground. It’s like a mass ritual suicide.
The sky is a particularly intense shade of blue today. I should start carrying my camera around with me all the time again.

Radar Maker
The trailer for the new Daredevil movie is up. Still not getting enthused about it, Daredevil’s suit is too shiny, Elektra looks too WASP-y. I like Jennifer Garner, but Elektra’s supposed to Mediterranean and sultry. She is not. Kingpin looks good. Bullseye looks pretty silly. I don’t doubt I’ll see it… but I’m not marking the days. If ya know what I mean.
The videos on the Pixies’ Complete B-Sides disc mess with Winamp on my computer. It won’t play.
