All those years and I was never using my Lego to its fullest creative potential.

Brick Tales (check out the Lord Of The Rings ones!)
A damn shame that Michael Schorr has left Death Cab, his work on The Photo Album was amazing.

Holy shit. From the semi-official The House Of Love website :
“Terry Bickers has confirmed that he is working together with both Guy Chadwick and Pete Evans under the name House of Love. Chris Grouthuizen has chosen not to join them and the band are currently looking at finding a new bass player. They have yet to record anything but have been writing together and have an album and some live dates in the pipeline.”
Chadwick and Bickers working together again? Damnation. If a House of Love reunion is half as fruitful as the recent Chameleons reunion, this would be cause for celebration for sure. This bears watching…
Found the new Mountain Goats album today – Five Seventeen has been on me for a while to get this record. It’s mostly acoustic indie-rockin’ folk along the lines of Neutral Milk Hotel but less lo-fi and demented (though earlier Goats stuff was apparently resolutely lo-fi, recorded on department store boomboxes and whatnot). One listen in and it’s not made too much of an impression – it’s pleasant and quirky, but we’ll see. It took Aeroplane Over The Sea a while to gobsmack me, not that I expect that degree of revelation from this disc.
Stopped in at the movie poster shop on Yonge hoping to find a poster for I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, to no avail. I want one but am not going to pay the $50 or so that one from the website would run me.
Blasted weekend is already over.

Welcome to Chromewaves.net v3.0. I’ve spent the better part of the weekend redesigning and rebuilding everything… December 1 seemed like as good a day as any to kick things off. Besides the cosmetic changes this thing now runs on Nucleus CMS – bye bye Blogger – you served me well but I wanted something a little more flexible and controllable.
I think I’ve gotten everything working now – the archives are tidier and more robust than the old ones and there’s a neat search function if you want to see how many times I’ve talked about hamsters. Some of the posts in the archives seem to be a little out of order, but I don’t think it’s a big deal. One of the hiccups in transferring all my older entries from Blogger to Nucleus.
I’m sure there’ll be more debugging necessary – a lot of the admin functions are still not fully functional, but the front end seems pretty solid. If anyone finds anything busted or not working as it should, leave me a comment on this post or email or something. Merci.

HA!
I am the #1 result on Google for ‘Frank Yang’! A couple days ago, I wasn’t even on the first 5 pages! From out of nowhere, I now reign supreme.
