Phosphorescent robbed in Brooklyn; Toronto shows cancelled

Photo By Sebastian MlynarskiSebastian MlynarskiBad news for Brooklyn’s Phosphorescent and anyone hoping to catch them at either tomorrow’s show at the Horseshoe or their in-store Sunday at Soundscapes – both shows are cancelled on account of the band having their van, all their gear and a tonne of merch stolen on the eve of a North American tour that was supposed to hit town this weekend.

If you’re in Brooklyn or New York, you’ve probably already seen the list of stuff stolen to keep an eye out for but if not, check it out at the Dead Oceans website. There you’ll also find the ability to donate some cash via PayPal to the band to try and recover and get back on the road.

Update: Unbelievable – the cops recovered everything. Donations will be returned. The only net losses were stress and, um, canceled Toronto shows.
