CONTEST – Voxtrot / Your Biggest Fan
Finally, a contest EVERYONE can enjoy. Austin, Texas’ Voxtrot will release their new EP Your Biggest Fan on November 7 but thanks to Playlouderecordings, you can save the $4 that Insound would have charged you and win a copy for frees right here. I have 10 – TEN – copies of the new record to give away, and entering has never been easier. Just leave a comment telling me who (or what) you are the biggest fan of and why. People, places, things, animal, mineral, vegetable, all fair game. I’ll choose the winners from the submissions and will try to have the CD in your hot little hands by the actual release date (though that’s as much up to the US/Canadian/wherever-you-live postal service as anyone else). And be sure to use your correct email address.
The contest will close at midnight, October 30 and is open to anyone and everyone, so get to it. And while you think, listen to one of the b-sides from the EP below and check out this minisite where you can watch a live performance video and enter yet another Voxtrot contest to win one of Ramesh’s old guitars. CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.

steph says:celebrity blogs. there is just something immensely fulfilling about being overly-critical of people who get millions of dollars for doing NOTHING AT ALL (for the most part). they are not normal human beings. they do not deserve privacy like the rest of us. what they DO deserve are close-up pictures of their crotches.

alex says:My favourite sound – Bob Dylan’s voice.
When singing, for sure, but also when talking. It’s gravelly and warm, and he phrases things like he’s stepped right out of 1913 – or nineteen and thirteen, as he would say.
I’d like to keep him in the closet in the corner of my study for inspirational/non-sensical mumblings. Maybe he could even rewrite my thesis.

Jeff says:I’m the biggest fan of gold fish "fishy" crackers. I’ve been eating them for twenty years, and I’ve never gotten bored with them. I always carry a baggie of them in my jacket pocket so that I can snack when my blood sugar is low.

Gladys says:I’m your biggest fan, because I said so.
Well, I would say Art. It’s my first love, the thing I can’t live without. There is nothing better than the healing and transformation of the spirit through art. The sole act of creating is meditative. Art is my way of life, and for this I am it’s biggest fan. Thanks…

Red is sexy.
Red is agressive.
Red nail polish and red lipstick. My red car with its red bow. Red clothes. No christmas without red candles. Red things to eat are great, too: apples, ketchup, strawberries..
I LOVE RED!

herbeeeeeee says:me’z a big fan of da GINGKO (sorry, i’m using ALI G-speak, bec i watched his dvd last nite. i’ll stop.). they smell like "a dog rolling in wet cheese" and birds & squirrels routinely ignore them. so as i’m on the ground picking them up (and people stare at me), i think of the nut inside that is said to have health benefits (oops, also a small amt of toxin!).

Charlie says:I’m the biggest fan of chips and salsa. Seriously. I eat it almost everyday (tostitos are the best). I’m also the biggest fan of the band Wilco. Thankfully, though, I’ve never been punched by Jeff Tweedy.

Mike says:I am a fan of NFL football. It brings all kinds together to celebrate the common cause, rooting on the home team. It identifies people more than they are aware of. I love my football team because they play on sundays for me.

backyardy says:I am the biggest fan Curb your Enthusiasm because Larry David is a comedic genius.

John says:I am the biggest fan of fonts. No, really. I dream about kerning, and lower case g’s. And not the Kenny kind. In a perfect world my 9-5 would be at place called "my house" making fonts for all you to enjoy, for the low, low, low introductory offer of $199.99 per character. And I would be rich and not have to beg for free CD eps from bands I dig. (though probably then I would be getting the CD free anyway as a thank you for inventing such beautifuls fonts for the cover artwork and band logo) And people would call me The Fontz or Fontzie, and every time I would enter a room, I’d say, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaayy"

Allie says:My fandom stretches and engulfs all that is uncomfortable memorabilia. I am unsure why I buy it, but I tend to purchase things that shouldn’t be bought on vacation. Examples? Plenty. A "Gnovelty" Gnome set, the "g" in novelty was the seller, vacation, museum tour.
The fascination is never really the article I don’t think, more the awkward displaying of said new posession… "Hey where’d you get that" "Do you remember that museum tour?" "… … oh."

Manny says:I love everything about the Dog Whisperer! Dogs are one of the very few things that make me unconditionally happy and having an entire show devoted to helping them brings me unbridled joy. The dogs are not the only thing that makes me happy though, the Dog Whisperer himself brings me joy too with his relaxed and wizened demeanor. He is able to exude this incredible level of care, patience, and positivity. He is incredible and I would ideally love to be like him and learn how to embrace life without fearing it. Of course…. I could be projecting and he just may be heavily edited to be seen as a humanitarian for his show… haha, I still love the illusion if that is what it is, but that’s just the unbalanced, insecure, cynical dog speaking from within. :)
