What: Insanely talented guitarist who’s not afraid to show it off via solos, tapping and more solos, all wedged into off-kilter pop-prog songs
Why: After releasing last year’s eponymous effort, she’s kicking off “The Lawrence Of A-Labia” tour – her words, not mine – to support it.
When: March 8, 2011
Where: Wrongbar in Toronto – all-ages
Who else: Though given the name of the tour you might think that co-headliners Tera Melos is a she, but they are a they and they are from Sacramento
How: Tickets for the show are $13.25 in advance but courtesy of Embrace, I’ve got two pairs of passes to give away for the show. To enter, email me at contests AT chromewaves.net with “I want to see Marnie Stern” in the subject line and your full name in the body. Contest closes at midnight, March 1.
What else: The San Antonio Current has an interview with Stern while CMU solicits a playlist.
