Today I Am…

…in Munich, Germany, home of the world’s largest Oktoberfest. I was born in and went to university in the twin cities of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, home of the largest Oktoberfest outside of Germany.

You might think this would create some sort of deep, fundamental and spiritual bond between myself and this fair city in the south of Deutschland. In fact, there isn’t. I can’t drink more than a couple of beers before wanting to take a long nap and my experiences with the K-W Oktoberfest were consistently gross and depressing and with a high vomit quotient. Not my own. Which is actually worse.

But anyways, it’s not October so it’s all rather moot.

…Check out Chad Van Gaalen play at the Tranzac. He’s also playing Wolfe Island in August, if you feel like making a road trip. Chart has an interview with the man.

Today You Should…

…Go see The Rosebuds and Land Of Talk at the Horseshoe. First your face will get rocked right off and then you’ll dance on it. Promise.

The Raleigh News-Observer chats with the Rosebuds while Land Of Talk were cover boys and girl for this week’s NOW. Nice.
